HEIC image decoder (LGPL-3.0)

When you add a photo in Apple’s HEIC format, Memory Mapper converts it in your browser so it can be displayed anywhere. On browsers with no built-in HEIC support, that conversion uses heic-to, which bundles libheif. Both are licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 3 (LGPL-3.0).

This software is used without modification. In accordance with the LGPL:

• The full licence text is available here: LGPL-3.0 and GPL-3.0 (the LGPL incorporates the terms of the GPL by reference).
• The complete, unmodified source is available from the heic-to repository and from npm. The version in use is 1.5.2.
• The decoder is loaded as a separate, self-contained script, distinct from the rest of the application and downloaded only when a HEIC photo is actually converted. It can be replaced with a modified version of the library.

Map data and tiles

Maps are rendered from tiles provided by MapTiler, built on data from OpenStreetMap contributors, which is available under the Open Database License. This credit is also shown on every map.
