What to put on a wedding map

Every year before the ceremony on one map — where you met, the first kiss, the proposal, and the church you're standing in today.

Where you first stood in the same room: The square, the party, the queue at somebody's leaving do. Every other pin is measured from this one, and you've told the story enough times by now to know which detail to keep.
The first kiss: Nobody else was there and nobody else needs it, which is exactly why it belongs on a map only they will open. The bridge, the doorway, the walk back to the car.
The first argument you came back from: Not the worst one — the first one you both walked away from still together. A map made only of good days is a highlight reel; this is the pin that gives today's promise its weight.
The proposal, no longer the ending: On a wedding map it sits in the middle, with a year of arrangements after it. Pin what you'd rehearsed to say, and what you managed to say instead.
The months of planning: The spreadsheets, and the twenty minutes on flowers neither of you can now remember choosing. It reads far funnier written down than it felt at the time, and they were there for all of it.
